Great idea!!
Am I the one you stole it from?? I don't mind at all if you did.
I proudly posted that idea on the Coronado Message Board about 2-years ago but all my posting were mysteriously deleted by "someone". Every idea I had.....gone with all the others.
Glad to see that some seeds may have been planted.

A monthly visual award is given to a neighbor for fixing up their property. It consists of a gift certificate and a sign that is displayed in front of the winners home. I have known of people that secretly compete for this award so some of the effects can be spectacular. Anyone can nominate a home and a panel or committee of neighbors chooses the winner on a monthly basis. They are featured in the neigborhood newsletter with a picture and a little article.

He is definitely willing to do whatever it takes to improve the area. He had a few suggestions and also lives just West of Coronado on the other side of 7th ST. He said he would try to come to the next neighborhood meeting and become a member of the list serve.

They believe that they are doing a great job with their management and were a bit defensive about me wanted to talk with the actual owner. He said the he will talk with the owner and see if the owner is willing to talk with me but went on and on about the illegalities of changing tenants....He said that he had two families in his units that have been there for a few years and are very good tenants. At that moment I was talking with him, I drove by his particular unit and informed him of all of the clotheslines streaming from one building to another, cars parked 2 inches from the front doors, trash and broken beer bottles all over the front of their units, shopping carts......He said that we will send a letter. He also stated that if we-or someone came up with a solution..i.e. a decorative three foot high high (pretty) fence meandering in the front (to prevent the multitude of cars parking on the front area or inbetween the unity)would be something the owner would probably consider.or painting or any kind of improvement (more trees?)
