Have to say,

I have never seen such attention to detail and design as I have in this house. The artist's works were just as precious as the walls they were hung on.

Thanks so much for believing in the neighborhod and I hope Valerie gets involved with First Friday.

congratulations!!

  Hi Wayne,
Yes, the period renovation is complete. And you gotta see it - it really is unforgettable. Perhaps the best looking Tudor-bungalow in Coronado. The raised garden bed and English-style gravel pathway has its own fountain. The driveway post lights are a sight to see at night; as well as the crystal chandeliers inside the house.?

I think the best thing though is how it is helping to revitalize this area. I see mothers and their children walking past in the evenings and enjoying the lighted fountain and flowers in the front yard. I have had neighbors from as far as Cambridge stop by and say what an improvement for the community. That's really what this project has been about - making a contribution to the city. The Art Exhibition is an extension of that - offering cultural diversity and art to the citizens. Afterall, the house was built in 1925, and has seen everything grow around it. So it was time that it got its own makeover so it can look beautiful for another 80 years.

Come over on Friday and I'll show you what we did with the driveway; instead of doing concrete, we used paver stone to create a rectangular perimeter and used GravelPave2 and pea gravel inside the rectangle. It's more environmentally friendly, has low heat radiation, and even filters pollutants that could contaminate groundwater.?

Well, you'll just have to come see the house on Friday along with the artwork. The combination is going to be just fantastic!
I attached a small copy of the opening reception postcard.

  ?

This is our 2nd gallery showing at Scotscraig, the Tudor Bungalow that was in the 2006 Coronado Home Tour. The renovation is complete and its time for an art exhibition!

  ?

Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.

  ?

  EXHIBITION

Appreciate the beauty and elegance of the female mystique that Ms. Galloway has so beautifully captured. Each piece represents a portrait of a woman in a saturated mood showing the darker or fanciful side of the feminine psyche - whimsical, pouty, unapologetic, curious, lonely, poised, naughty, stylish, mischievous, sexy. Drenched in rich colors like crimson, blood-orange, coral or emerald, the cosmopolitan women captivate you with their je ne sais quoi. These watercolors were often used as studies or sketches for her photography. Native to Arizona, artist/photographer Valerie Galloway has lived in New York City for the past 10 years and recently moved to Tucson. Ms. Galloway will be in attendance.

  ?

  See you Friday!

  Aaron
