Hi Everyone,
This is a request from Anysailor.com. I just thought I would take a shot at forwarding it to all of you with the hope that you knew someone that could help. Hopefully you will forward it on asking everyone that you know. Please contact me by e-mail if anyone responds. Maybe someone, somewhere out there knows of an organization that can help!

> I apologize to all of my supporters for not responding quicker to your cards and letters. I had to pull back from the Humanitarian Assistance program for a while because of operational issues in the area but I’m back now and I’m going to hit it harder than ever.
>
> First of all I want you to know that this posting today is very important to me. I realize that my request will require something close to a miracle for it to happen but we’ll never know if we don’t ask. So here it is…..
>
> Two weeks ago we had a meeting with the Village Elders of the Mondozai and Zani-Khail villages that are just outside our camp. These meetings are typically used to discuss issues such as job opportunities on camp, security issues, and humanitarian projects. On this particular day they brought three very sick little kids with them. Two of the kids were about eight years old and suffered from a congenital heart condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot. As I understand it, this condition consists of 4 anatomic anomalies in the heart that prevents oxygen rich blood from being pumped from the heart. As a result, poorly oxygenated blood is pumped to the rest of the body. Because of this, children with this condition do not have the stamina of normal children. The condition almost always needs surgery for the child to live to adulthood.
>
> The third child that was brought to our meeting suffers from what my doctor stated as, “the worst case of scoliosis that he had ever seen”. Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. My doctor believes that this child’s condition is so bad that he will eventually develop a hunchback and if left untreated, it is unlikely that he will live into adulthood.
>
> All three of these children need surgery to increase their chance of having a normal life. My doctor and I have been doing research on what can be done for these children but as of today, we’ve been unable to find a surgeon anywhere in Afghanistan who could save the lives of these children.
>
> I am using this platform to request assistance on this matter. I have met some of the most incredibly giving and generous people that I shall ever meet thru anysailor.com. Your cards, letters, and packages have inspired me and renewed my belief in the innate kindness of the human spirit. It is my hope that someone reading this posting knows someone or some group that does this kind of work and can direct that person to me.
