letter from An American Soldier

I wanted to post something to commemorate 9/11 but was having trouble deciding what to send.  And then I came across this letter from a soldier in Iraq.  I have been reading his posts for a while now and I wanted to share his most recent letter with all of you.  He is originally from Puerto Rico and is always referring to his poor English.  I think he does an amazing job with the English language.  He truly appreciates life and always reminds me to do the same.  He tells us not to take life or our loved ones for granted.  An important message on this 5th anniversary of 9/11.

Hello SUPPORTERS, IT is CARLOS, it is update time again this time, I am writing to you all as we all know we are here in IRAQ for a reason to protect each and everyone of you to have FREEDOM, well as we all know also SEPTEMBER 11TH is coming and I hope and pray we can take a few mintues during that day to say a prayer to the ones who lost there lifes to the ones who are still suffering and the ones who are trying there hardest to go on each day, and of course our TROOPS who are doing a on going battling of fighting for FREEDOM, lets say a prayer and keep them all in our HEARTS, as I know I will and everyone in my UNIT will we will have a moment to remember the day of SEPTEMBER of 11th and the meaning behind it all..I also would like to leave these thoughts with you all... 

The Secret of all those who make discoveries is that they regard nothing as impossible, 

Be yourself that's all there is of you, To laugh often and much to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends to appericate beauty to find the best in others to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child a garden patch or a redeemed social condition to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have SUCCEEDED

These are thoughts that I wanted to share with you all, but my favorite thought, I want to share with you all and hope you can pass it on to others also is.. 

Write it on your HEART that everyday is the best day of the YEAR.. 

Thank you for taking the time to read my update things over here our going ok, and my english is getting a little bit better my goal is to take ENGLISH as a SECOND language when I come back HOME, and I hope to be successful in everything that I do in life, but one thing I do know for sure and will always hold it dear to my heart no matter what that this uniform I wear is worn with PRIDE, and with HONOR, and I am so PROUD to say I am a UNITED STATES SOLDIER, and I appericate all your support thank you again, although packages our far and very few, to the people who have sent them to us THANK YOU very much it is very thoughtful and very much appericated and where GONE in a heart beat.. I will also update and tell you that my UNIT should be home and back in the USA before CHRISTMAS and we are so excited and HAPPY.. we can not wait.... So AMERICA thank you for showing support to US.. we LOVE you back home and can not WAIT to come HOME and put our FEET on the GROUND of the USA.. a s I am so PROUD to be a US SOLDIER.. thank you for not giving up on me and thank you for all of your encouraging words..
