                  Over the last 18 months I have visited with thousands of voters across the State of Arizona. Traveling thousands of miles in my yellow school bus, I have listened carefully to students, parents, teachers, business leaders, and community activists. Local communities statewide now share my vision of educational equity and excellence for all children. 

                  The citizens of Arizona know that I am the only public school teacher running for the office of State Superintendent of Public Instruction. As a career educator, I know how much this election will affect our schools and our children. Your help is important and critical. A vote for me will demonstrate your passion and commitment to public education. With your continued support, we have a tremendous opportunity to be a force for real change in Arizona. 

                  My campaign asks all of us to take action to bring everyone together. We, as a community, must support our teachers and schools to guarantee that all children receive a free and excellent public education. I believe that we can no longer allow the politicians to make mistakes for our children. The challenges that exist in Arizona's public schools today can and will be fixed, but not by a politician. 

                  I appreciate all your past support, which is why I am asking for your vote in the Democratic primary election on September 12th. Please send e-mails, make phone calls, and talk to your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues over the coming weekend to secure their support and votes for my candidacy. 

                  I want to again express my gratitude. Together, we will ensure new leadership, a new perspective, and new thinking at the State Department of Education. And, we will work with our great Governor to continue moving Arizona forward, by moving all of our children forward!
