For those interested in our oil situation.

I feel like I am living in "the brave new world" do we really get our
information from movie productions? Movies are designed to get you to go to
them and pay money, and tell your friends so they will go and pay money.
Emotion is the primary driver, drama. TV is to get you to watch so that you
buy products. This is why there are different networks with a selection of
the same facts spun in different directions. Network news helpful? Oil
spikes and the movies are about oil and cars. Remember when starvation was
a popular emotion, and now we are all so fat that "fast food nation" is a
hit:-).

We all sit here with machines in our homes that give us the accumulated
knowledge of civilization and the means to sort through it at our finger
tips and we respond to reality with emotions that have been "produced".

Spend an evening surfing the web for energy saving ideas we can implement,
reading some Friedrich Hayek, or for those who just like a good movie I
recommend the one that formulated my parent's opinions in the 60'S.

It's the Harkins Theatre on Goldwater, north of Camelback. Across the
street from the Scottsdale Fashion Square. It's a smaller cineplex that
mostly plays indies and foriegn films.
