Dear Concerned Neighbors and Friends, 

I wanted to follow-up to my initial correspondence and contact you in an
effort to provide you with the most up to date information regarding the
suspected serial shooters and so called "Baseline Rapist." 

As you may know the suspected serial shooters were taken into custody in
Mesa in the early morning hours of August 4th. The Phoenix Police Department
in conjunction with the Mesa, Scottsdale and Tolleson Police Departments,
FBI, and ATF did an outstanding and thorough job in the investigation and
should be commended for their hard work. We have learned once again why we
have one of the best Police Departments in the country. We also owe a big
thank you to the public for the outpouring of support and investigative
leads that ultimately resulted in the two arrests. 

While the suspected serial shooters are in custody I urge you to please stay
vigilant and contact the Police Department with any information regarding
the "Baseline Rapist." The City Council will continue to support the Police
Department and authorize the necessary resources to catch this criminal. I
have full confidence they will bring this criminal to justice.
