Coronado Pipes

I would like to clarify:

"Coronado Pipes" is a demonstration project that was assembled and placed in
the traffic circle by a small group of artists. You recall there was a post
earlier last week for those who would be interested.

"Gorilla art" is unsanctioned art placed in public places to make a
statement. It is a "public demonstration" an exercises of freedom of
expression and statement. Freedom of speech to authority, radical as it may
be, sometimes it becomes necessary.

If anyone would like to know what the "statement" is, and why the "art" took
the form that it did, then I would be happy to explain it at the general
meeting. I will place the project in its proper context.

Now that the demonstration has bee made, and the statement made the Art has
served its purpose and when the construction on the interior of the circle
begins again it will be removed, and replaced with the proposed landscape.

The "Coronado Pipes" will be donated to the GCNA Association to be used at
events such as the home tour and GAIN.

GCNA was not a sponsor of this nor was involved in any way. While I am a
member of the traffic committee it should be clear that this is not an
action of the committee. The City and its personnel are well aware that
this is a demonstration by me and the artist and not of GCNA and The Traffic
Committee.

Voicing opinions about the project, its purpose and its look is certainly
welcome on this forum, and is partially what the project is all about.

If you have any specific questions, just pick up the phone, I would be the
one to call 602-258-2605
