Thanks for the update Tyler.

If anyone was not able to attend the meeting last night, it will be
rebroadcast on Channel 11 numerous times. Here's the schdule:

Thursday 7/13 7pm, 10pm
Friday 7/14 7am, 6pm, 11pm
Saturday 7/15 10am, 5pm, 9pm
Sunday 7/16 8pm
Monday 7/17 9am, 3pm, 10pm

One of the advantages of attending the meeting was seeing the maps in
detail. Unfortunately a random shooting occurred on 16th St. about halfway between
Thomas and McDowell.

The police stressed neighborhood awareness and neighborhood cooperation.
Fortunately we have plenty of that in Coronado.

Dear Concerned Neighbors and Friends,

I, like everyone, am outraged by the series of terrible crimes that have
been occurring in our community over the past 14 months or more, including
the crimes of the so called "Baseline Rapist" as well as potentially two
other offenders. These crimes have attracted much media attention and
increased fears in our community. Our hearts go out to the innocent victims
of these criminals.

I wanted to contact you to let you know the Phoenix Police Department is
conducting a thorough investigation to catch these criminals. The City
Council has authorized the necessary resources and the Police Department has
committed an unprecedented amount of manpower and resources, including over
100 Officers to this investigation. Phoenix has one of the best Police
Departments in the country and I have full confidence these criminals will
be caught and prosecuted.

To fully inform the public of the ongoing efforts, the City of Phoenix
Police Department will be hosting a community forum tonight at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, July 12th, at Loma Linda School 2002 E. Clarendon in the multi
purpose room. This informational meeting is being held to address the
concerns of the community, provide an overview of Police efforts to date and
to share safety information. The police are also providing tips to citizens
to follow during these times, such as always being aware of your
surroundings, having a plan if a situation occurs and to call Police for any
suspicious activity.

The Police Department is asking the public to help solve these crimes. For
more information on these investigations and to report any suspicious
activity please call Silent Witness at 480-948-6377 or visit their web site
at www.silentwitness.org.

Thank you for your continued commitment to our community and please feel
free to contact me at 602-262-7491 with any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Greg Stanton
Councilman
City of Phoenix
