  So,

Lets place the peacocks in context. No one "owns" the peacocks that run loose in the neighborhood. Myself and several other neighbors do provide food for them. This makes them generally hang out in our yards where they are "safe". The neighbors near our locations don't seem to be too bothered.

They crow and are on the move only a few times of the year. It is very loud, and if it is near your window yes it will wake you. They crow at sunrise which is early this time of year. We all sleep through it down here your brain learns what signals you need to wake for. I am not suggesting that you take the time to do that, if you view it as annoying it will not happen anyway.

Yes they are rural animals, it is interesting to listen to them talking, there are two sounds and there are numbers of calls with each sound (yes they sometimes wake me to, I lay in bed listening to them and go back to sleep in no time, counting sheep or peacock calls, same difference).

I personally welcome the rural sounds downtown, they are certainly different than the helicopter at good sam or the other sounds of the city.

I tossed my TV years ago, killed it with a hammer and left it to die in the alley. Imagine. I was trying to sit on my couch in my own living room, and there it was on the other side of the room making the most annoying sounds and "telling me vision".

So I do understand the perspectives of those whom the peacocks may annoy. They are smart birds and so not like water, it may be worth getting up and spraying them, you may even see a good sunrise this time of year.

Wow. There is an animal I don't know a lot about. Until now I was unaware

that pecocks crow. Good to know. Although, I would talk to the peacocks

owners before taking drastic measures such as the peacock rescue or animal

control. Don't underestimate other forms of pets, even peacocks can be part

of the family just like dogs and cats. I know I would be upset if someone

took my pet chicken (Foghorn) to be killed.. though she has yet to escape

the house so I don't worry. Anyhow.. I believe Wayne is or knows the owner

of the birds. Can't remember if they are his or his neighbors though.

  Hey All,

Who does own the peacocks in the neighborhood?

We've had one show up in our back yard twice this

  weekend - crowing before 4AM.

It was bad enough when we had to hear them crowing

down the street before sunrise, but next to my window

  - NO WAY! They've lost all charm as far as I'm are

concerned. Any suggestions? Peacock Care & Control

perhaps? I have the # for the Peacock Rescue Although,

with as little sleep as I've had lately, I'm the one

that will need to rescued if we can't get these birds

  to shut up.

  Peacock Rescue: (602)569-2360.
