A hearty group of 20 braved the July heat Saturday morning to meet Vice Mayor Doug Lingner at the 12th/Oak roundabout. We thanked him for the City Council pilot program circle, his support for Coronado through three Fight Backs, and for having the vision to support $10 million in collector street traffic mitigation in the recent bond election. His assistant, Rosa (far right in photo), was also there. (She has always been there for us over the last three years, come to think of it!!!)
The gist was: "Keep doing what you're doing Coronado." Talking to each other, talking to the Council Office, talking to residents from other neighborhoods, and to city staff. It's how things, like roundabouts, get done.
A big thank you to all of you who showed up from the GCNA and three Coronado Fight Backs, Thank you to Salem/Sunshine Market for opening early and serving coffee and donuts. Thank you to Ray from Neighborhood Services Department (far left in photo), our contact since Barbara Gonzales has been out. And thank you to Wayne for bringing Barb in spirit ( a photo from the 8th/Virginia roundabout) who's been integral to our traffic efforts but couldn't be there Saturday.
Speaking of Virginia, are you wondering what happened to the Virginia plan?
