My dog came to me via Jodi the day before Thanksgiving.
His fur was so neglected and matted that she had to shave him. She put out an email to the neighborhood asking if anyone would like to adopt him.
I had been yearning for a housedog and companion for awhile and after a recent human breakup was very ready.
That's when I read Jodi's notice and emailed her back.
I went to see him and it was love at first sight. I told her I needed to make sure he was good with children since I had 5 grandchildren (now 6).
He not only survived Thanksgiving dinner at my house, he had five children in love with him. He was nearly bald so I bought a sweater for him - it was COLD!! My children will never let me forget I dressed a dog in a sweater!!
Because he was a small fluffy little white dog ,I named him Spike--so he would get the respect of the hood.
He is a poodle/terrier mix similar to a Bischon and he definitely a hood dog.
I bathe him and he looks magnificent. The I put him out front on his lead and he begins to scratch and roll in the dirt. Before long he's beige. The vet said he's a healthy 2 year old of in determinant breeding.
I know he's a pal who greets me when I get home at night- who spins in circles when I walk in (the record is 14) and who loves his walks and rides in the car. I don't know his past- I do know his future-he will be part of my family and part of our memories. He is my little hood dog.

If anyone has or knows of any lost/found pets in the neighborhood, or if you
got flyers or notices about any recently.. please send me the info before
the 10th. I want to get them into the pet section of the Urban Refinery for
next month. I can do info and pictures if you have them.
Also, if you have a pet that you think should be featured for any reason
(special talent, special story.. just cute) e-mail me and we can work that
out too.
